Go to sweep, dear*

We're reading a joke book again, and this time the kids are getting more jokes (and I'm able to explain more.)

Yesterday I went to the supermarket and discovered that, of course, it is all decked out for Christmas-- yikes! This will be our first Christmas with Dani's peanut allergy, and unfortunately most of the traditional Christmas foods have potential traces of "frutos de cáscara"-- the dried dates, raisins, apricots, and figs may be processed in the same factory as peanuts, and the turrones that are most widely available all have several varieties that also contain other nuts. I am still hoping that there might be a place that only uses almonds purchased directly from an almond producer, but I suspect that those might be the more gourmet or "artesenal" varieties, and thus harder to find (not to mention more expensive.) As Dani gets older, it's harder to have food around that he can't eat, because now he notices what other people are eating and wants some, too. So, we are going to have to make some changes.

*What did the mama broom say to the baby broom?

I strongly suspect you are in for some very artisanal tourons. They should be extra-delicious though : )
