Okay, let's finish up while I still have some energy.

The last part of the exam was no mystery, except we didn't know which two balls would be drawn. I was hoping for one of the tricky ones that no one chooses, because i had studied them and could do a good job, and also because if you choose a topic different from most people, it can be a point in your favor (not literally.) But it was not to be. The two topics that were drawn in my jury were 4 and 25, in case anyone is reading who knows what that means. Of those, the easy topic was number 4, and probably the most popular, but I chose it anyway. It is about teaching culture in the language classroom, and easy to come up with something even if you hadn't studied. I think I did all right, though nowhere near as well as I had done at home with all my sources, lots of time, etc. writing my draft of the same topic. Oh well. At least now it's over. The grades will come out in Feb (assuming I do in fact pass, but I have to start working on it even without knowing.)

And there is the distinct possibility that the exam (all or part, for some or all of the teaching specialties) will have to face one or more legal challenges-- some of the things I've been hearing may indeed warrant a challenge. If that happens, and prospers, the whole process may get thrown out (or part, or not.) Not sure how likely it is, but it's a possibility. So, nothing is certain here.

I'm just glad to be done! Too damn tired for the cava, though maybe I'll make the effort...

Oh dear... thanks for letting us know how it went!! I'm sorry the topic you were hoping for wasn't chosen, but I hope you did ok on the other one. Now it's over (at least for now) and hopefully you can rest a bit and enjoy the holidays without this weight on your head!

Thanks for reading, Lilian-- I know I did ramble on, but I wanted to get it all down. yes, it is a relief to have it be over-- today I will clear all of my books and materials out of the living room, finally!
